In order to ease the transition as well as help with the emotional difficulties and experiences from being a refugee, the transitional housing is a safe, inviting, and refreshing environment. The effective & efficient design maintains & explores some of the original historical characteristics of the house as well as applying a contemporary overlay, along with an emphasis on natural materials to bring a connection to the earth & a focus on renewal. 10 projects were selected to collaborate with Construction Management students and presented in an exhibit. This project was selected to be in student poster competition at New York State Green Building Conference
